Brand's smallest crossover reaches milestone after eight years on sale. Nissan has produced its one-millionth Juke at its manufacturing facility in Sunderland, UK, some eight years after the boldly-styled crossover hit the market. According to the manufacturer, one Juke is built every 105 seconds, and 95,000 units were sold in Europe alone last year. Number one million was a Euro-market 'Tekna' variant finished in Vivid Blue, which is also the most recent colour to be added to the exterior palette. "Reaching the one million milestone is a fantastic achievement for any model," said Kevin Fitzpatrick, senior vice president for manufacturing, supply chain management and purchasing at Nissan Europe . "Eight years ago we had never seen anything like the Juke before – it created an entirely new segment and brought a distinctive never-seen-before look to the market." "It’s terrific to see that the 2018 model, with all its improvements and personalisation options, is as popular as the version that rolled off the line for the first time in 2010," he added. The Juke is now the fourth Nissan model to reach one million units at the Sunderland facility, joining the Qashqai (3 million), Micra (2.4 million), and Primera (1.5 million). Globally, there are some 23,000 different specification combinations for the Juke, including a range of colour and trim options. In Australia, however, the Juke hasn't been so popular of late. Last month saw just 65 find homes Down Under, a reduction of 27 per cent on June 2017 (89 units). Year to date (YTD), the Juke has managed 360 registrations locally, well down on the same period last year (-52.4 per cent).
